At least three 12-year-old basketball fans will tell you it's a tough job dyeing your hair in support of your team.
"Yeah, we used this hairspray stuff," said Shelby Toderan, who said she dyes her hair blue and yellow before each O'Gorman basketball game.
"It's temporary and stuff and took, like, two minutes to do my hair and my friend's hair."
Her friend, Justine Leafstedt, proudly pulls her once-blonde ponytail over her right shoulder. Now, bright blue and greenish-yellow streaks take over her mane.
It's halftime and O'Gorman leads top-ranked Brandon Valley 22-17. The hair just might help the Knights pull one over the Lynx, Toderan said.
"No, they didn't tell me to dye my hair," another girl, Arianne Aasen said, looking longingly at her friends' 'do. "I just met them here like this."
The color, Toderan said, washes out in about as much time as it took to apply.
"I think it shows the team that we're voting for them," Leafstedt said. "We do it 'cause we like O'Gorman."
Did the hair dye give O'Gorman an edge? Well, the Knights did avoid a Brandon Valley comeback to win 50-45.
